Community Learning

Sacramento Waldorf School recognizes that parenting and caring for children and young people are lifelong journeys.

Understanding child development and discussing the current issues families encounter is a way that we support currently enrolled families and those from the greater Sacramento area. Parent education is offered through class meetings, special workshops, Speaker Series events, Waldorf 101 presentations, study groups, open houses, and more. Adult education is enhanced by Professional Development and Community Offerings, Waldorf 101 series, and an evening Speaker Series in which noted experts and faculty members share the latest research and insights on topics relevant to parents. Speaker Series and Waldorf 101 topics have included:

  • what Waldorf students pursue after graduation

  • discussing sexuality with your children

  • navigating social media

  • Waldorf questions and myths

  • healthy movement for children.

Community Learning events are listed in our weekly newsletter, The Community Current, and on the school calendar found in your Parent Portal. Connect with us at these events and let us know what kinds of topics and events you would like to see in the future.
