September 2020 ReOpening FAQs

Current Information about the School's September 2020 Reopening

We are currently accepting applications for the 2020-2021 school year for Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 9th-12th grades. Our 5th, 7th, and 8th grades are currently full. Our enrollment has been changing daily and you can still submit an application for our wait pool. We will consider your application should space become available. Before you submit an application, we ask that you fill out our inquiry form. Since our programs are to meet a student’s developmental needs, our birthdate cut off may vary from other schools. Please check the chart below to see which grade your student would join.

Our current plan is to resume in-person learningwhen the county has been cleared from the watchlist list for 14 days or if we can receive approval for an inperson outdoor learning waiver for grades K-6.Until then, we will provide a rich and inspiring remote curriculum for our students that includes project-based learning and an attention to minimizing screen time as much as possible.

Two weeks before school opening, on August 18th, we will know Sacramento County’s status and will be prepared to offer the learning model that is in alignment with local and state mandates. Ifweare required toopen the school year remotely, wewill be ready return to on-campus learningimmediately following county clearance. Our ability to pivot between in-person and remote learning will remain a primary focus aswe move toward opening day on September 1, 2020, for the grades and September 2, 2020, for the Kindergarten program.

Inperson learning will include small learning groups, mask wearing, frequent handwashing, physical distancing, and repeated sanitation of all spaces throughout the day. We hope to use our beautiful 22-acre outdoor space to spread out and provide as much outdoor education as possible. We have been preparing and transforming our campus to optimize outdoor learning. Once in-person learning resumes, remote learning will be offered simultaneously for families who require this option.

We will provide a rich and inspiring remote curriculum for our students that includes project-based learning and an attention to minimizing screen time as much as possible. At this time, we are not providing discounts during the timeframes where remote learning is required.

We will offer remote learning simultaneously with in-person learning when we are cleared from the monitoring list.  At this time we are not providing a homeschool curriculum option.

Though we cannot hold space in a class, we hope that our dedicated families that need to unenroll for this school year will contact us once they are ready to return. We will work together to see if we can reenroll students. We value our long-term families and will take that into our enrollment decisions in the future.

Though enrollment fees are non-refundable, if a student returns, we can apply your 2020-2021 enrollment fee to the next school year.

For returning students, you can cancel your contract anytime between now and the start of school, September 1, 2020, without obligation, other than non-refundable fees.
